Simple. Easy. Intuitive. These ideas were the foundation of Raven Technology Group.

More than thirty years ago a box called a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) appeared in the industrial landscape and turned the industry on its head. It was a new way of thinking about control and monitoring. Not long after this, the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software was introduced; again demonstrating a new way of monitoring and controlling an industrial facility. The PLC and HMI, when coupled together, offered unprecedented access to information. This access of information directly equated to better decisions and efficiencies. And, in addition, meant efficiencies in implementation, time and money.

When the new millennium hit, we experienced another shift in thinking; Web technology. Web technology allowed remote viewing and interfacing to happen. Suddenly the plant floor and MES systems were able to exchange information. This increased efficiencies and allowed for better decision making power.

Today the only in-factory points not to have been made more efficient are the end points; the field devices. Access to these devices, to this data - directly from the measurement point - is the new efficiency evolution. We set out to provide this access of data - directly - from the field devices.

This is our vision, and we aim to become an industry leader, providing solutions that will dramatically alter the architectural landscape through disruptive advances in power provisioning and networking capabilities for tens-of-millions of existing industrial field devices.
